Community ecology

We are interested in patterns of community structure and population distribution and abundance in response to environmental gradients focusing in the importance of scale to understand the patterns. Most of our work focus on intertidal and shallow subtidal benthic communities (collaborations with colleagues  from Faculty of Sciences, Uruguay). Recently we started a collaboration with Gunnar Gerdts and Antje Wichels (AWI-Marine Station of Helgoland, Germany) in the field of marine microbial ecology.
